Sculptra® is an injectable collagen stimulator containing poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA). Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works gradually by stimulating the body's natural collagen production.
It is designed to help improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds and restore a more youthful-looking facial structure over time. When appropriately administered, Sculptra may help improve skin firmness, smoothness, and overall skin quality while producing gradual, natural-looking results.
Sculptra is FDA-approved in the United States for correction of shallow-to-deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region, and other facial wrinkles in appropriate patients. It is also indicated for restoration and/or correction of signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people with HIV.

Sculptra® must be administered by an appropriately licensed and trained healthcare professional.
The product is supplied as a sterile dry powder that must be properly reconstituted before injection. The injection technique, treatment depth, amount used, and number of treatment sessions are determined by the qualified treating professional based on the patient's anatomy and treatment goals.
Sculptra is typically administered as a series of treatment sessions, rather than as a single one-time treatment. The manufacturer states that patients commonly receive 2–3 treatment sessions over several months, with typical sessions spaced at least 3–4 weeks apart.
After treatment, the manufacturer recommends the 5-5-5 massage approach: massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days, following the treating professional's instructions.
Sculptra works gradually, so results are not expected to be immediate in the same way as traditional HA fillers.
Visible improvement may begin as early as 1 month after treatment, with results developing progressively as new collagen is produced.
